I also run a social network site that uses JomSocial. They just included the option of having pictures and videos stored on Amazon cloud (S3 Storage) . This is a great feature that you can turn on or off.. This is because of the big file sizes of video and images. It is very cheep to get amazon storage and also saves bandwidth. They also have included a migration tool.
