Topic: Do you think you have a successful dating site

I visit many dating sites who are using the same dating script as mine and i have to say most of them have poor content. As a Dmoz editor, may i advise and convince  you that is not difficult to start a dating site, but i difficult to arrive in the top of search engines results. You should write at least 6 new articles each week.

Or, with no original content your site will never grow up. You will waste your time if you do not write original articles. There a hundred thousand of dating sites in the world. If you want be known , start write, right now. 

Install a blog on your site or better a Forum and start new topics.

No articles ? Maybe when you have a very allready known site, there is no need to write articles any more.

Anyway when you start a site, you have to use some SEO technics to get known, to have original content.

Hello.
I don't write 6 articles per week.
I just posted some good articles with quality content and interesting keywords.
Moreover I added some pages (2) under the footer similar to splash pages with quality content and keywords in the pages name too.
They are working fine and I am on the second page for two important keywords groups (working to go to first page) and on the first page for other groups of interesting keywords.
I already know how to move to first page, but I am waiting to do it because I want to prevent over-optimization penalties.

I agree about original content.

I think having a community Chat is very important to get people to signup to your site.

Running a successful site since 1995, changed to vldpersonals soon after he first released the software.
Every site is different. You can't say you need or don't need articles. It did nothing for me, but helps others a lot. Much depends on both your niche and the way your site develops - they don't always go in the direction you want or expect. I killed chat when it became a technical problem (still not really resolved) and have seen no change in sign ups, activity etc. Again, each site is very different, as it will be very important to some. Success is measured in different ways by different people. I don't see huge membership numbers as a sign of success, as the majority would be inactive. To me, a bit of hard work promoting the site, and a happy and active membership are success.
