Re: How to activate Trials

You can to create three different membership levels (eg: Trial, Standby, and Paid).
In "trial" allow people to use some features for free and set this membership level will expire after one week since subscription.
Set that when "Trial" expires members will be moved to "Standby" level with all features disallowed.
To finish, in "Paid" level allow the features you want your paying members can use.
For "Trial" and "Standby" level, set they can be upgraded to "Paid" level.
Well, while people are on "Trial" or "Standby" level, they can upgrade their membership to move to "Paid" level.

Re: How to activate Trials

Sorry I explained wrongly.

By default users will be assigned to "Regular Member" group after account activation. Consider this as the StandBy level.

"""If you go to:"""
Settings»System settings»Registration»Trials
"""and you set:"""
Trial member group = Paid Members
Trial member length (days) = 7
then when the users will activate their accounts they will be assigned to Paid Members for one week (7). When this period will expire people will be reassigned to "Regular Members" by default.

While they are on "Trials" period or they come back to "Regular Members", they can buy a "package".

Create one or more packages to buy 1/2/3/6/12 months of "Paid Members" level.

Done!

Moreover, you could create a new "Paid Super Members" level with more features and permissions than "Paid Members" and create 1/2/3/6/12 months packages also for this level.
No matter which level you will set as Trials (Paid Members or Paid Super Members). Anyway it will last one week.
The only difference will be that people will have the possibility to choose different packages (e.g. with or without blogs, with or without videos, with or without pictures, 10 messages or 100 messages per hour, etc...) which last 1/2/3/6/12 months.
