Hello, I found, what is to me a bug when using Asian languages. To the publishers, it is a feature.
But it's something that you may want to consider when using Chinese, Japanese or Thai.
I am building a new English/Chinese site. But when a user or admin tried to enter or paste Chinese characters into the "In Your Own word" text box, it would remove all but the first few characters. This did not occur when pasted directly in the database.
When I asked about this the first time, they told me to upgrade saying that the recent version supports all languages. I didn't think this was the problem since it displayed correctly when entered into the database.
After some research, it was determined that the problem is due to a function in the software that looks for a long string of characters without spaces to prevent problems with display. The Chinese characters do not have spaces except at the end of a sentence. I suspect this is the same with Japanese and Thai. I had to have them make some changes to the software to prevent this or no one could enter information in Chinese. After the changes, things worked correctly.
So while your Chinese or Japanese language pack may work well, data entry into the profile may have a problem.
