You'll see it in the announcements when it's out.
But when it will be done ? 1, 3 months, 2 years ?
why do you have to be sarcastic? When Vlad is ready he will release it.

Keep checking back. It will be released before Christmas, hopefully early next month.
I am also waiting...
I heard an exclusive update will release soon... ![]()
Everyone seems anxious for the new version to come out. I'm sure some of the features will be a great improvement.
I wonder if I'm the only one who has mixed emotions about upgrading. After months of customizing templates to how I want them, I'm reluctant to upgrade if it destroys months of work.
From everything I read on the forum, it seems if you upgrade, you have to upgrade with the new tpl files as well. If only you could upgrade (php files) and keep the tpl files that you have been changing over time, it would be great. I don't know about you all, but no way am I going to remember all the changes I made to the tpl files.
I know there are comparison tools out there, but most are far from perfect.
Despite my reluctance, there may be some veteran up-graders out there that can provide a detailed guide on the best way to do it. Even better if there was a utility that could help with the upgrade.
I'm sure it will be here soon. When it does come, I will download it and hopefully I can play with it in a test directory to see if it is worth the risk of losing my current site customization by changing over to the upgrade.
cheers
I agree 100% with db3204.
For that very reason I did not upgrade the last time (many of the new features I don't need) but I do want to take advantage of technical improvements etc. I have not made a huge number of changes to Vld, but enough to make it a problem when upgrade time comes, with downtime needed to re-do customizations, and testing. Not a great idea on a busy live site.
I also agree with you, pals. When upgrade is out I'll compare it with previous release to determine what is the easier way: to apply my changes to newest release or to apply newest release changes to my installation. And for now I can't say what way is harder since I can't remember all the changes I made though I remember all the tasks they do. Even if to do again once discovered much easier work it's still hard work to apply changes.
BUT I really don't know how developers could help us if we are making our changes in core code... and even db.
I agree with you guys. Recustomising the templates can take a while especially if your like me and you didn't document what you changed. Luckily I don't have any changes to the database or core code (at least that I can remember) so it shouldn't be too hard, just a bit of manual html work ![]()
Just a thought, are we allowed to install the software temporarily in a password protected directory to do template customizations to prevent downtime on the main site? That would save a lot of messing about.
Steve
From my expereinces with other php cms scripts that I have I use to worry about that but I foun that its not all that bad I keep a full copy of the site beofre I o it I also try to keep a folder on my PC of my customized files.
When it cxomes time for my upgrade I o it and usually only have to redo a couple of my changes
namely css file I first try to compare the 2 files if i coul remember what program i downloaded to do that.
an then the main tpl files
i mysel o it live and usualyy do not come up with any issues whatso ever.
I have a folder called "Last uploaded files" where I keeps a copy of my latest mod file. I thought all did it this way (or a better).... And I make a subscribe to all topic in this forum where I have found things (codes/ideas) I have used(or might use in future). But I'm still a little affraid of making an update, becaurse my folder becomes bigger every day, and I think it must be a hard job to compare all those file and make the changes in updated files.. Perhaps I can't use the codes or labels I have made, in the new ones...
But...maybe there is infact no cause to worry that much. Only time will tell ![]()
The secret is an understanding! Read, download, implement and understand what you're doing and you'll never forget this...
If you clearly understand something most likely you'll do this again and again without any help and increasing speeds.

Radioact, in this I can only agree
But understanding mostly needs repating experiences, and most of the changing we do, we only do once... This forum is a nice way to both learn and understand, and more better is, that members can help eachothers; the one who help others are learning most ![]()
When I became a member here, I was totaly code-imbecile, but with the help from this forum (and its members and staff) I am begining to understand how the files are working and can do a lots of changing even though I don't understand most of the terms yet.
And my English is also much better ![]()
I really look forward bying a licens more, so I can "play" and learn
(and perhaps also earn some money in the course of time...)
I'm sure you can play and learn with only one license. Nobody will blame you if you make one install on your PC for testing and development purposes. But you have to know how to install local server though.
Yes, and this I don't understand
My new licens is for a new site and URL, so this is no problem, but the update of my present homepage could be, but perhaps I don't need to update anything there, and can take it by and by if I want...
It's my new homepage I am looking forward "playing" with
At this time, I'm trying different things with .css and tpl. in a template that only I can see, in my present homepage. I also use this template to try codes before I modify files in the template I use for my homepage.
So I don't waste the time until the new release comes out
(but soon I'll run out of ideas, and then I will...)
Soon it is Christmas tongue I thought i will surprise my users with new version?
I was out for few days since I was visiting my parents at another city. And I'm waiting for new release too and was little bit upset don't watching it out yet.
Hey i just bought vldpersonals 2 days ago im new and i will be posting here every so often.
Is there any new features that the new version will have?? I'm impressed by vldpersonals so far. I thought it wasnt going to be that good because it was cheap. But wow its fast and i really like it so far. how hard is it to make your own custom design? Does anyone know where i could buy any skins? And hope to make some friends here!
Welcome to our community! We'll do our best to help you.
Is there any new features that the new version will have?
Nope. Since you are newbie here I suggest you to learn current features because they all new for you. B.T.W. I've heard that new release mostly bug-killing and not very much new features will be out. But I could mistaken.
how hard is it to make your own custom design?
It's as simple (or as hard) as make new design using html and css since all system is template based.
Does anyone know where i could buy any skins?

Thanks that is exactly what i was looing for.
On another topic. I would like to get a custom template made. I am not very good at making templates and it will take me way to long. So i rather just pay for it. But do you think i would be able to get options like Links to new users, men onine, women online, new users. Search Advanced and Quick search, Showing all pictures in profile instead of a sepearate page. Showing online list and. sStuff like this, Is this way to much toask? Or they just do templates. And would it cost my hundreads of dollars? I don't want to email them yet. Maybe someone has some opionions?
You better place ticket to HelpDesk to marketing department for pricing. You won't be too shocked since pricing for custom works similar to the product itself - lower than average market prices.
Huraaaahhh!!! Release is out!!!
Yeah, but unfortunately my 1 year of free updates is over...
