Topic: Photo Approval
If this is something the vld software already provides please let me know, I haven't seen it in the control panel. But it would be really nice if the admin could approve photos before they were visible to the public.

Seems the new version does not allow approval of the 'main' photo, but others can be approved. I would like to see the restoration of approval for ALL photos ASAP to prevent porn and other inappropriate pics please.
Would also like to have the following in a future version:
rss feeds built in
ability to bulk delete/approve profiles and photos by check boxes
Thanks to Vld for continuing to develop and support this great software, and thanks to other members for valuable tips and help!

I am about to start working on a Mod for this, has anyone done this already or any recommendations.
FOUND IT FOR VERSION 2.3! In the Control Panel go to -> Settings -> Member Groups -> Select Member Group -> Member Picture Privelages -> Can approve own pictures, change to NO. Now when a user adds a photo it sets the photo to inactive, therefore not viewable to members. To activate a picture go to the Control Panel -> Members -> Manage Pictures -> Under the Actions Field, there is a red inactive icon, click it to activate it. I hope this helps everyone.
There is lot of confusion about this issue.
If I understand how 2.3 works it is like this. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. When a member registers, they have an opportunity to upload a photo. This photo is not part of the members picture album and will not be displayed in their profile. If you click this photo on the front end, it is not linked to any larger photo and if the member does not have pictures in their profile, an error is produced saying the member has no pictures.
2. Linkage71, I believe the settings you are posting is for the member's pictures in their profile. This is not associated with the registration picture uploaded by new people. After a member registers, they can upload additional photos to their profile which most members won't do thinking the registration upload was all they needed to put a photo in their profile. If it was me, I would change the error message that is displayed by default to something that helps both the member and users who are browsing your site.
I apologizes if I have the above wrong -- please correct/clarify if I do. Even though I'm not using 2.3 yet, every time I read a post on this issue it seems clarification is needed.
Personally, I would want to turn off uploading the photo while registering. Having a photo displayed on the front end that is clicked and does not link to a larger photo or produces an error will confuse most people/members. I love the idea of uploading a photo during registration (with option for admin approval) if it was also part of the member's profile album and they did not have to upload any more pictures unless they wanted to.
Hopefully the documentation clarifies these features because I think it would be an important distinction for any webmaster looking to buy vldPersonals.

I agree there needs to be a Manage photos section screen in the Cpanel>Members area that will display the photos the same way as Manage pictures displays uploaded pictures.
