Topic: Can we send users their old passwords instead of creating new ones?

I clicked that I forgot my password and the system emails a new one.
Is it possible to just have the system send the user's email address instead?

I never liked the system websites have where it sends an email and you have to renew a new password. I think its confusing to some people.

Also is it possible to have a user put in their email only, instead of both username and email in order to get their password sent to them in an email?

Thanks

Thanks, I'm a little confused about that thread though as it relates to my situation.
His situation is about seeing passwords and images. My situation is about not wanting to reset passwords as a convenience to the members. Just send them their origional passwords.

Also it gives an error if you try to log in too much. Is it possible to turn that off? or make it double the logins?
It locked me out for 15 minutes and I always hated sites that do that lol smile

Person above talks about viewing his members' passwords. It cannot be done because passwords are encrypted for the reasons outlined in the thread I linked to. Same applies to sending out passwords, they're encrypted so system cannot know what the original password is.

You may increase login attempts and other security features under "settings - security"
