I specify my settings in such a way that non-members can't view profiles. If any outsider click on the profile, it will give him message "you don't have access ..." I wish to change it to the following:

Yes, but in lang.core.php it doesn't specify for viewing profile. This is message by default and appears in may situations. Can it be modify to differ. for example if somebody wants to view profile from for example non-paid member who wants to sign guestbook (or smth similar).
Oh okay, so you only want it to happen in certain situation? Thats beyond my knowledge ;-) - sorry
you can set which groups can view which profiles in the
control panel---->Settings----> [member group]----» The group you want----» Member Profile Privileges------> Can view member groups
