Topic: Search by username

So, I get all these emails from should I say, first time users (instead of "pea brained") - asking me why they can only find THEIR profile when they search, So what I've noticed is that in "Additional options", under "username" they type in THEIR username.

Does anybody have a workaround for this? Can I say something else there? Maybe default text in the text field.... ???

And what wording should I put in there, like "Search by username" or something

Re: Search by username

Okay, great, I would like to make those question marks that you hover over, but I'll do that after the update. Thanks Vlad

Re: Search by username

another way is go to ----> includes/languages/english---->lang.lib.search.php

edit this:
"search_username" =>
"Username",

to this:
"search_username" =>
"Search for a Username",

or have it say whatever you want

Re: Search by username

Thank you seeme101, I've considered that but then my line breaks
to the next line
like this

Can you or anyone come up with a nice shorter phrase that will fit in one line?
Search username?
Search by username?

Or something else maybe?
