can you guys give me a little bit more details on how the matching should work like ?
if i have enough info i might make a mod for that
i already made a cron file wich sends the latest x members to a specific user group every week
to keep the men interested in my latest girls ![]()
I think that a useful way could be informing members about these matching:
1) only new subscriptions after previous email (priority to last subscriptions with profile photo)
2) their gender preference
3) their region (using only city can give no results at all)
To not disturbing members with lot of unwanted emails system should have to limit emails by time and by results (ex: 1 mail every 15 days and no more than 6 profiles into the list)
No email if there aren't new subscriptions after previous email. This prevent to annoy members and to not overload server when sending emails.

the match.com, send me an e-mail daily with new profiles compatible, and how they are giants in the industry, should know what they are doing...
Yes, they are giants and commercial, so they don't care to not annoy you.
The marketing strategies of giants are different by little sites, because giants have big numbers and they don't get scared if you delete your email address from their newsletter.
They already has a big name and continually spend money for campaigns on internet, radio, tv, paper, so they are sure that even if you unsubscribe, other people will subscribe anyway.
Little sites have to take care of their existing members.
Happy to discuss this with you. I like interesting discussions.
By my point of view, we have to send newsletters and inform members of new subscriptions in their region "to offer a useful service to the members", not to bombard them with unwanted spam for marketing reasons ![]()
Why not make this feature with the possibility to choose if i as a user want that "service" or not ... in the profile settings i have so many choices ... would not be a problem to choose if i want match newsletter or not.
