I see that 2.5.6 is out. Not sure if I missed it, but did not see an announcement or change log. I downloaded the script, update, etc and still did not find the change log.
Does anyone have the change log. If so, could you please post it.

Good show...it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks...I'm use to seeing it on the forum...however, I'm glad you pointed out the blog and twitter...so old dogs like me can keep up.

There should be two new lines in your config.php file after the update that look like this
$conf['chmod_folder'] = '0755';
$conf['chmod_file'] = '0644';Make sure that they both have correct permissions for folders to be writable and files to be readable.

downloadet the update.php and now want to install it, so i call www.gayvenner.dk/update.php and then the updatewizard comes.
In step 2 i get this message: Call to undefined function recursive_mkdir() in /home/gayvenne/public_html/update.php on line 0
What does that mean?

I noticed it created a main folder but subfolder. Thus 7 was created folder and folder 9, 6, 3, 1 was not created

** The chat module looks good !! Want to test it quicky!!! But its hard to make updates. It takes a lot of time. Because a lot of original files are modifed.

Jwysocki....I have not had much luck just getting the chat to work with 2.5.3. I got the impression you did or came awfully close.
May I ask if you wouldn't mind providing the steps you took to get chat to work with your version of 2.5.x?

ok
first i downloaded latest version
then i downloaded my site files (include and the main files, index and chat.php)
i do this step because i want to keep my modifications
2. using beyond compare i did a folder compare of my site and new version
3.for each file copied over the new modifications into my files if needed and if my files didnt had any modifications i just uploaded the new file
4. i did the same for the template files and uploaded the new footer_panel.tpl file
5. made a databse backup and then i uploaded the new update.php file and ran it
6. cleared cache and all tmp folders and done
7. chat is working but with some faults
Errors so far:
1.Photo couldn't be resized. Check your permissions (checked config.php file folder is set to 777 and file to 644)
2. On the chat when someone sent me a message i got no notification.Luckily i had it to friends so i had to click his username and look if he wrote anything to me (like i said luckily that i have him as friends).If u dont have the user that sends u chat as friends u dont get any notification
3. at this point i keep getting the messages someone sent me yesterday, over and over again..
i think this is it so far

finally i got it to work the update. Thx to setubal lwho postet the link to update instructions.
Now i have the problem that i can not see any pictures.
And Chat is totally dead ;-(

boy, you guys are doing well....maybe other modifications I have done is causing me not to get it to work.
Last question to those who did get it to work. What changes did you have to make to the mysql database? Maybe that is my problem, but not sure.

Update my template files? I have the DayLuv template from luvpoint.com
As i can see it is for vldpersonals 2.5.5
if you updated to 2.5.6 then the templates need changed too
so i have to take a template here from vlads site and change it the way i need it?

Now i took a new template from this site here and all pictures is shown. The chat is working.
Oh my god ... now i have to work the hole night to get all the modifications again i had before ;-)
