Topic: Customize non-Dating business application

Hi folks, have tried to search a bit regarding customization but most queries reference dating site builds. This a pre-Sales question.

I would like to apply the dating site architecture for a marketing workflow - eg a match making platform for business services (member profiles) which allows clients (non-members) to search the business profiles and also rate the services. Obviously all the default labels, many fields and lists would have to be amended or deactivated, new content parameters indexed back to query functions. I am not a programmer but can be consistent with amendments across a db, can read basic SQL.

Does the vld platform allow for this much configuration without significant code change? Would I be able to manage the majority of this customization from within the admin control panel and perhaps some simple relabeling inside of the code?

Thanks in advance!

I think most of that can be achieved within cp and a few other small tweaks. The software is very flexible and I think one member has something similar.

Thanks very much for that Dragon. Helpful. Have been digging on tech tips and found examples of functionality in the control panel that are available in demo mode.

Can anyone from Sales possibly weigh in on the original post? Thanks.

I don't think you'll need to edit any php code what achieve what you're looking for. vldPersonals supports so called 'profile types'. It allows you to create completely different set of profile fields for different types of members. If you have more than one type set up, your members will be offered to select one at sign up. For example you can create on for "companies" and one for "consumers". All of that is done through the control panel.

Thanks vlad Dev. That's great to know so much configuration can take place in the Control Panel without having to modify the underlining architecture. There are so many business applications for this sort of thing.

Btw, Great support forum folks!
