Topic: Affiliate system

I was just about to buy when I realised there is no affiliate system for this software, is this right? I was either going to choose between this or emeeting, I like this far better but I really need the affiliate system as I have 4 high traffic web sites owned by other people who will be signing up and need accurate tracking, i.e. how many referral's and then how many referral's have paid...

I've been reading through the forum and have seen that 3rd party software can be used, how accurate will this be? I mean yeah its easy to track referral's but how can I track who has then went on to pay?

This is kind of a deal killer for me, I really like the look of this software and the support from the forum looks great, could you advise if an affiliate system will be integrated in the future or if there is already one and I'm not seeing it,

There's a "referrals" feature that allows members to earn credits that can be spend towards paid membership.

As for affiliate system, you'll need to use third party software. It'll be just as accurate, if not better, than any built-in solution.

you can use the stats page, do a little php coding and you can have them there
for example something like:

select * from vld_members where referal='site1' and group_id='2'

thats a simple sql query wich will select members who have referal as site1 and belong to group with id 2
assuming group 2 = paid members you will see all members refered from that site who are now paid members

Too many have used 3rd party affiliate programs with success to be concerned about integrating one that bogs down the script. Affiliate scripts are geared towards doing one thing well and that is run your affiliate program. vldPersonals does one thing really well and that is create a social site for members to meet. A combination of a 3rd party affiliate program and vldP seems to be the best combination that works for most members.

Sounds good but can the members see how many referrals they have and how many have actually paid, because my affiliate's will want to know this and not go on my word, Thanks again!

Yes, of course. Most third party affiliate products have everything you need to manage affiliates, view clicks, commissions, etc.

Just another question what affiliate software have others used?, is it easy to install/configure? i had a look on hotscripts.com but I'm a bit lost as to where to start, Id obviously be looking for a free option and something easy to set up, I don't mind editing a bit of code and that, just want to know where I stand before I make any purchase, thanks, Sarah!
