Topic: Change the look of the profile functions of the registration process ?

Hi,

I am very seduced by this software.

But before I buy it, I have an important question to ask :

Is it possible to change the look of people's profile functions of the choice they made when they register ?

Let me explain :

When people register for the first time, the website will ask them to choose between 10 choices.
In functions of their choice, I would like that the look of their profile change.

Ex : if they choose "I am a : skater", I want they see the skater part of my template. If someone choose : " I am a : Dj", I want him to have the Dj template look...

So can I do that ?
And how can I do ?

Yes, it's possible. You can basically create a new profile field or set of fields that will ask them these questions and then customize their profile template based on the value of those field/fields.

That can be done

Create several templates, for example template for DJs, Skaters and so on, so simply use

<!-- IF member_group_id == "1" --> // Lets say that group1 are Skaters

it should display www.yoursite.com/index.php?template=skaters

<!-- ELSEIF member_group_id == "2" --> //Lets say group2 are DJs

display www.yoursite.com/index.php?template=djs

Don`t forget to set in control panel "Override members template" to NO.

Another question :

If I buy a licence when the version of the software is 2.5.7, can I have all the next versions for free during one year ?

I ask this because I've read on this forum that the 2.5.8 version is soon coming up, and I need to be sure that I won't have to pay again just one or two month later.

May I have to pay again for a full licence or is there some discount for your old users ?

if you buy a comercial license now i believe after 1 year its a 39$ fee to extend for another year
