Topic: Best way to promote ?

Hello members,

I know we all own a Dating website, but my niche is probably different than yours so you do not have to be worried for competition.

Can someone please help me by telling me what the best way is to promote your website ?

- Do I have to start with investing money in advertisements to get members ?
- Or is it better to hire a SEO professional to rank my website on the first page for my keywords ?

I am currently not ranked very good in google for my keywords...

I did talk to a SEO and they ask alot of money, and besides that he said it will take them around 6 months to get me to the top...

What did you do to promote your website?
What is the best method for launching a dating website ?

Please help me out.

Re: Best way to promote ?

The fastest way to grow your site is advertising -- i.e. adwords. If you want to sustain a long term presence in your niche, than SEO is needed.

If I was starting out, my strategy would be to do both. I would advertise to get membership up and running while working on SEO. However, I would not hire anyone. I would learn to do it myself. Search engines change their algo all the time. If you hire someone to do your SEO, you will have to hire them again if search engines change their algo to keep up. Best to learn yourself and make changes when needed.

Thanks alot,

I'm also working with Adwords now,,, but I'm paying 0.65 € per click...

Isn't that a little to much :S ?

Or is 0.65 good enough big_smile ?

Besides that,

DB, do you have a forum on your dating sites or not ?

And is it essential to have a forum ?

I have a forum, but it is NOT integrated with vldP. However, I'm not saying a forum is not a good thing. If you look at my site, I have so many ways for members to network their profile (mods), that a forum wasn't needed.

If I was starting out with vldP, I may consider a forum just to add another networking tool.
