as an additional search filter, it would be great if a member can search user profiles by keywords contained in a member's "In my own words" profile content, or by keywords contained elsewhere in a user's profile (Religion, Political Views, Sense of Humor, Interests, etc.)
"Search by Keywords in user profile: ___________"

In my modest opinion I don't like this idea.
Infact, about religion, sports, hobbies, political views, sense of humour, interests, etc... you can already use checkboxes and users can perform advanced searches based on their preferences.
So, search filters as you explained maybe useful just for textfields like "In my own words", but you have to consider that fields as that are filled by users with "stuff" (not important things) and I think it's useless to allow searches by keywords into that kind of content...
There are lot of things more important than this that are really needed into vldpersonal...
It's better to ask for really useful features that make our sites user friendly. Toys are useless.
Just my opinion.
