Events management is a feature that can be perfectioned and could offer to webmasters lot of opportunities.
Actually it is conceived just as a calendar for members and this is ok, but with a little bit of additions and modifications the system could become a powerful feature to reach lot of new users and offer to our members a very useful service: a dating site that is also a site about events for singles.

Infact, the audience of a dating site usually is interested also in events for singles, e.g. speed datings, parties and dinners, sport events, organized travels.
Moreover, they could be interested to know about public places usually frequented by singles.

Well, events section into vldpersonals could be used as it is conceived now, but also to offer a great service: listing events for singles. A webmaster should offer this service for free or to earn some money, e.g. giving the possibility to publish their events just to some membership/publishers (private organizers and businesses).
Anyway, even if you offer this service for free, consider how much it can be useful and appreciated by your members and non members that can decide to register.

To do all this just a little work is needed to add:
1) a newsticker into home page that randomly shows upcoming events (an image, short title, locality, date)
2) a dedicated page to show the list of next events, ordered by date, similar to profile list page after a search is performed
3) the possibility for members/visitors to search events by locality and/or date
4) the possibility for publishers to use html while adding new events, so they can format text and add images

To finish, something like a link "I will be there" could be added into member profiles for members that subscribed an event. This way all members can easily inform other users that they will participate to an event and this will increase events visibility and interaction between members.

I do think this could be a great and interesting service and it can easily do with just some modifications to the existing feature.
