Sorry for my bad English.

I am using vldpersonals since 10 months and I am very satisfied about it, because after I migrated from osDate to it my life has really changed. Vldpersonals has lot of good features and works very fine.

During these months I noticed some things that can be reviewed or added to improve the script. Infact, some features need few additions or little modifications to become more powerful. So I would try to report these things, hoping this could help Vlad.

Consider I am still using 2.5.6

I always exclude "useless toys" or "personal needs" that can be added as modifications and try to ask for things that I think my members really would like and appreciate into a dating site. Moreover, some of them are usually present in all other dating sites, meaning their absence can be considered a missing.

Please, leave a feedback if you like these ideas or have some suggestions on how to make them better. Let's help Vlad to consider to add them into vldpersonals if appreciated by lot of people.

1. CHARACTERS COUNTER IN TEXTFIELDS
Admin can set the characters limit of messages, blogs, comments and other textfields, but members don't know it. This causes problems to members when sending/posting text.

2. ONLINE USERS IN REAL TIME
Online users list actually is not in real time and this could cause misunderstanding. Moreover, members consider this as a site malfunctioning.

3. HIDING ONLINE STATUS IF NEEDED
Some members would like to browse the site without showing they are online, to prevent unwanted contacts by other online members.
>>> Request: adding a button to let members hide/unhide their online status with just a click.
(This should be also an additional feature for some memberships).

4. YOUTUBE VIDEOS EMBEDDING
Easier than file uploading...

5. "MESSAGE READ" AUTOMATIC EMAIL
Usually members would like to be informed by email when a member read the message they sent to him. Moreover, this increases visits by members as it already happens with "YOU RECEIVED A NEW MESSAGE" emails.

6. TARGETING NEWSLETTERS
Sometimes it's needed to send a newsletter just to men or women or people that live in a State/City.
A good newsletter management is very important, because it gives to admin the possibility to earn money with email marketing, but it has to avoid to spam members that are not into the target of a campaign.

Moreover (but this is secondary), it could be useful also to choose recipients by last visit (e.g. to send messages to people that don't access the site since a long time) or join date (e.g. to send messages to members that registered since a long time).   

7. ALLOWING HTML IN NEWS
I would like to write articles with a better style and to add some images/videos.

8. LISTING/PUBLISHING/ADVERTISING EVENTS FOR SINGLES
Listing events in a dedicated section of the site can be an additional service/business instead to be just a calendar.
In my honest opinion I think that a events calendar is a useless feature into a dating site and just a toy for members.
Well, existing calendar can be used to add into a dating site a useful service. Infact, having a section dedicated to events for singles can increase members satisfaction, visits and subscriptions.
