Ok, here is the deal: I know that VLD Personals can run on a shared hosting environment with no problems whatsoever (providing that the website traffic is low, of course). Now, if I installed this software on a shared host, and let's say I advertise my website on Google AdWords and lucky for me I get lots of members and my traffic jumps. In this case, I would need to transfer my web site to a dedciated or cloud server environment. Anytime we transfer files from one server to the other, there is a possibility we may miss one file or something may slightly go wrong, right? Remember, when you download files from server with your FTP, it only takes one file not to be properly downloaded to your computer and uploaded to other server to get annoying errors. To avoid this, I hoped I could install VLD to shared server that would also offer easy upgrade to dedicated or cloud environment. Rackspace does not offer this convenience.
