Ok, I have found an acceptable solution to this. It just means that no matter which page is posted to Facebook, the same picture is used eg my site's logo.
Add the following into header.tpl just above </head>:
<meta property="og:image" content="http://www.MYDOMAIN.com/media/logo.png"/>
