I purchased my VLDpersonals script in 2007, I had absolutely no problems with vldpersonals at all. My seo manager recommended to me in Jan 2011 that I change scripts to increase my user interactions and that would increase my incoming traffic. I followed his advice and purchased social engine 4. Worst mistake I ever made. Not only did the script not install that easy, it was more expensive then vldpersonals ($250), tech support was terrible and  it required a dedicated server. Long story short, after 3 months of trying to make social engine 4 work. I gave up and came back to the best script in the world (VLDpersonals). Sorry I ever doubted you VLD.

tcc626, I was split between purchasing licence for VLD and Social Engine.

After playing with demo versions of both scripts, I made the right choice.

First of all, Social Engine is same as Facebook. Do you honestly see any difference between Social Engine and Facebook except in a template? Facebook is boring, they are losing members (have you read News lately?). I also shut down my Facebook account, don't need it, it's too boring.

Second of all, VLDPersonals is a dating script with features for social networking (if you wish video/audio, guestbooks, you can enable them... I don't need them, so I disabled them). So, the choice is clear: VLDPersonals is what you need.
